Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect your information.

Overview

The Kogan Firm, P.A. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you visit our website at www.kogan.law.

Information We Collect

When you use our website, we may collect the following information:

Information you provide directly: When you submit a contact form, case intake, or questionnaire, schedule a consultation, use one of our calculators or quizzes, download a kit, or message the website chat assistant, we collect what you enter, which may include your name, email address, phone number, and the content of your message or answers. We use it to respond to you and, where noted below, to send a short series of follow-up emails.

Automatically collected information: Like most websites, we may collect certain information automatically, including your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit. This information is used to improve our website and understand how visitors interact with our content.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to respond to your inquiries, schedule consultations, improve our website, and communicate with you about our legal services. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Cookies and Analytics

Our website may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your browsing experience and analyze website traffic. You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our site. Google Analytics 4 records pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and events such as form submissions and tool use, but not the content you type into forms or the chat assistant.

Third-Party Services

We use a small number of outside services to run this website. Each has its own privacy policy.

Scheduling. Consultations are booked through a third-party scheduling platform. When you book, the name, email, phone number, and appointment details you enter go to that platform.

Website chat assistant. The chat bubble on this site is an automated assistant, not a person. Each message you type, together with the earlier messages in that conversation, is sent to Anthropic, PBC, the company that provides the underlying AI model, to generate a reply. We store chat transcripts for 90 days and then delete them. Do not put confidential or sensitive information into the chat.

Analytics. Google Analytics 4, described above.

Our website may also contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites.

Follow-Up Emails

If you leave an email address when you use a calculator or quiz, download a kit, or submit a contact form or case intake, we may send you a short series of follow-up emails about the topic you asked about, and, from time to time, a monthly note with a recent article and a reminder of our flat-fee services. Each of these emails carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing from one stops both the series and the monthly note. Separately, if you start a contact or intake form, enter an email address, and do not finish, we may send a single reminder. We do not sell or share your email address.

Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect the information you provide to us. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

We keep website-submitted information only as long as it serves a purpose. Messages exchanged with our website chat assistant are automatically deleted after 90 days. Information entered through our online intake forms that does not lead to an engagement with the firm is automatically deleted after 180 days. Information relating to clients who engage the firm becomes part of the client file and is retained in accordance with the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar and our engagement agreements.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at paul@kogan.law or (954) 281-8888. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the website after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
